Sonia Singh, owner and founder of Blend is a Professional Hairstylist with over 10 years of experience. Sonia started a career in hairstyling upon graduating from high school and completing a Vidal Sassoon education program. Sonia’s positive attitude and heightened innovative thinking has provided her with a plethora of opportunities. Her work, for example, has been featured in editorials for Elle Canada, and she has played a pivotal role in live events, such as Toronto International Film Festival, Toronto Fashion Week, and New York Fashion Week. Most importantly, Sonia has demonstrated drive by pursuing the following certifications: Oribe, editorial; Tony and Guy, texture and creative haircuts; Lizzie Liros, bridal up-dos; Martin Parsons, bridal up-dos; Ken Paves, extensions and up-dos; Vidal Sassoon Diploma Program, and L’oreal colour training. Sonia holds a keen sense of style, accompanied by highly technical hairstyling skills. She can identify emerging trends and personify beauty ideas, while guaranteeing your desired image for any event.
Senior Hair Colourist
With 18+ successful years of experience, Jermaine is proven to be one of the industry’s top Colourists in the GTA. After graduating from the Toronto School of Hairstyling, Jermaine immediately began to work on multiple projects for fashion, television, and hair shows, as well as magazine and editorial shoots. His passion and raw talent fueled his formal training within the following colour lines: L’Oreal Professional, Wella, Aveda, Matrix, and Goldwell & Milkshake. In addition, Jermaine achieved his certification in Keratin Complex & Great Lengths.
As an industry leader, Jermaine is a highly valued and extremely talented and successful member of our team. He is frequently sought-after by his peers to provide mentorship and consultations. An accolade to this strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and talent, Jermaine’s vision and capability to create a specialized look that complements the client’s individuality is undoubtable.
Andrea currently has over 12 years of experience as a licensed Hairstylist. She completed a 3 year co-op in cosmetology before enrolling into a Vidal Sassoon education program. Her skill development did not stop there, as she continued to pursue further training with Toni & Guy/ Label M, Oribe, Lizzie Liros, Martin Parsons, L’Oreal Color, Evo, and Wella. As a result of her positive attitude and extreme work ethic, Andrea’s career progressed towards becoming an educator for several years. Andrea’s work was featured in Smirnoff and Anoki Magazine, Toronto Fashion Week, Fashion Cares and most recently the Coco Rocha Fashion Show. She has worked with world-renonwed Hairstylists Vivianne Mckinder and Effie Davis. She has also participated in hair shows such as Mirror Awards and Intercoiffure. Her phenomenal work and effort was recognized as she was a contestant in the Sebastian’s What’s Next Award. Andrea continues to contribute to the industry and her community with her outstanding work and volunteering for organizations such as Cops for Cancer and Locks for Love.
Mayela currently has over 12 years of experience as a licensed Hairstylist. Mayela’s interest in the field sparked when she started cosmetology in high school. She pursued her talent by enrolling into a Vidal Sassoon education program. Mayela perfected her talent by furthering her training with Toni & Guy/ Label M, Oribe, Lizzie Liros, Martin Parsons, L’Oreal Color, and Evo. Her work has been popularly featured in Lush and Wedding Essentials Magazine. She has worked with world-renowned Hairstylists Vivianne Mckinder and Effie Davis. Much of Mayela’s work has also been featured on hair segments for ET Canada and in fashion shows for Coco Rocha, Fashion Cares, and Toronto Fashion Week.
Senior Makeup Artist
Justine is a Professional Makeup Artist with 9+ years of experience in the Beauty Industry. She has made her mark on perfecting and customizing makeup techniques. She takes pride in her attention to the fine details of individual lash application and personalizes each look for every client. After spending a year at Looks Aesthetics Academy perfecting her makeup skills and learning in depth about skin and medical aesthetics she furthered her training by obtaining private training from world-renowned Makeup Artist, Patrick Ta and by becoming a certified lash technician and a certified spray tan technician. She achieved a successful 9 year career at MAC cosmetics where she had the opportunity of not only being a lead artist but also managing her team and experiencing extensive training to master her trade. Justine uses her love for European culture, fashion, and makeup as a daily inspiration and finds beauty in a rustic, European trend.
